You can learn English with American pop songs! I'll show you how to use music to improve your English learning skills and you'll have a lot of fun too. In this video I'll analyze the spoken English in Taylor Swift's song Wildest Dreams. We'll learn about English reductions and real spoken English, giving you new tools to sound more natural when speaking with an English accent and more deeply understand native English speakers. When you learn English with songs you're unlocking one of the toughest problems about improving your spoken English: as you sing along, you're naturally and melodically mimicking the sounds you hear (vs. simply reading text off a page). Your brain and voice are working together to re-create the sounds you're hearing...you'll be doing exactly what I teach my students to do to make their English speaking sound more natural! Your ears and voice will work in tandem to help you improve. While it’s important for you to read and memorize vocabulary words as you’re learning English, that’s only half of your work. If you’re like the vast majority of English language learners, you want to improve your English skills so that you can have more conversations and feel more confident as you’re speaking. There’s simply no better way for you to increase your vocabulary than to learn words in context. And that’s what we’ll do here. Pronouncing these vocabulary words like a native speaker requires that you learn the reductions, intonation and rhythm used by Americans. I’ll walk you through everything in detail, using IPA to be precise about each sound. I’ll describe what your tongue, lips and mouth need to do in order to produce each sound with precision. While I know that it’s not easy to improve your spoken English vocabulary I hope this video will help you make a lot of progress. Good luck! These two questions are part of almost every job interview in one form or another. If you’re ready to answer these questions in a compelling and concise way you’ll be well on your way to getting the job! This video will allow you to look in on our mock interviewees and dissect what they’re doing well and where they could make improvements.
